‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Enlists Stunt Coordinator James Young for Additional Photography

Inching closer to its February 14, 2025 release date, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is closing in on filming for additional photography in Atlanta, Georgia. With Julius Onah (‘LUCE’) helming the feature and additional pages written by Matthew Orton (‘Moon Knight’, ‘Operation Finale’), the film is looking to be in better shape, with a major focus of the reshoots being centered on the film’s various action sequences.

The fast-paced political thriller starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford has undergone a prolonged development, being hampered by both the actors and writers strikes from May to September of 2023; however, the delays allowed Marvel executives to focus in on what needed to be fixed following test screenings in late 2023. We can report that Marvel Studios hired James Young and Alex Benevent to act as stunt coordinators for Additional Photography on ‘Captain America: Brave New World’.

Recent news revealed Giancarlo Esposito’s addition to the call sheet of Captain America 4, and we can reaffirm he is playing an antagonist in the feature with a major action sequence set around his character. He joins a cast featuring Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Liv Tyler, Xosha Roquemore and Tim Blake Nelson.

James Young was the fight choreographer & fight coordinator on various Marvel Studios productions such as ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘ Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Black Widow’, and more as well as the stunt coordinator on Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man’ alongside Alex Benevent.

Their latest stunt coordination project, ‘Jackpot!’ starring Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and John Cena and directed by Paul Feig, releases August 15, 2024.
